Mourning is an assistant professor of Computer Science at ɫߣߣ×ۺϵ¼º½. A native of Middleport, Ohio, Mourning received his Ph.D. from ɫߣߣ×ۺϵ¼º½ in 2015. His main research areas include Computer Graphics & Data Visualization, Modeling & Simulation, Augmented & Virtual Reality, Aviation Safety, Cybersecurity, and Machine Learning with applications in Meteorology.
Before becoming faculty in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Mourning served as a Research Computer Scientist for ɫߣߣ×ۺϵ¼º½â€™s Avionics Engineering Center, and maintains his role as lead developer on the ɫߣߣ×ۺϵ¼º½ NAVAID Performance Prediction Model.
Mourning is currently serving as Principal Investigator on the Low Altitude Weather Network project and has other ongoing funded projects by NASA, the Ohio Space Grant Consortium, the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, and the FAA. He is also the Director of ɫߣߣ×ۺϵ¼º½â€™s Choose Ohio First programs for Computer Science and Advanced Manufacturing.
