Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences Early Assurance Program

Through the Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences Early Assurance Program (EAP), incoming freshmen can earn early admission to the ɫߣߣۺϵ Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology (MA-SLP) or the Doctor of Clinical Audiology (AuD) and can begin the program upon completing their undergraduate degree.

About the Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology and Doctor of Clinical Audiology

The Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology (MA-SLP) and Doctor of Clinical Audiology (AuD) programs provide students with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, a variety of clinical experiences and possibilities for mentored research experiences with a diverse, energetic, dedicated and productive faculty who work with students in a positive, encouraging environment.

  • Conditional admission to the MA-SLP or AuD program
  • Mentorship by Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences academic and clinical faculty beginning in first year
  • Enhanced learning opportunities including experiential learning and peer mentorship opportunities with MA-SLP or AuD graduate students
  • Admission to the OHIO Honors Program (OHP), which includes Priority scheduling, honors advising, honors housing, and an honors designation on your diploma

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be admitted to OHIO's Athens campus as a first-year Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences major for fall 2026
  • Have the equivalent high school GPA of 3.5 or greater on  4.0 scale
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, time management and collaborative skills evidenced by academic accomplishments, leadership in extracurricular activities community engagement and/or independent learning experiences

Application Process

For full consideration, students must complete the Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences EAP application by Monday, January 19, 2026. The application includes a required essay. A resume is also required. Students may be asked to participate in an interview during the spring semester. Selected students will be notified in March.
